Brazos Valley Gives, the region's yearly one-day online fundraiser for nonprofits, runs today, Tuesday, Oct. 20, with donations accepted from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.

The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley hosts the event, now in its eighth year. KBTX reported that more than 200 nonprofits from across the region are taking part, and that 41 of them have matching gifts lined up.

Donors can give online at brazosvalleygives.org, where they can search the list of participating groups, pick one or more and give any amount. According to KBTX, the money goes straight to the organizations donors choose, and some groups also accept pledges of volunteer time.

Gifts can also be made in person at Brookshire Brothers stores in College Station and Caldwell, or at Brenham's Washington County Chamber of Commerce, the station reported.

Organizers are aiming for $1 million this year. In 2025, roughly 4,800 donors gave about $1.56 million to 200 nonprofits, a record for the event, and the total raised since the first giving day in 2019 tops $7.5 million, according to KBTX.

Early giving opened Sept. 20 and closed Monday night, so today is the final day to give through this year's event.
