College Station waited all offseason for this. Texas A&M answered with 50 points and a zero that never left Missouri State's side of the scoreboard.

The eighth-ranked Aggies opened their season with a 50-0 victory Saturday, September 5, before 107,782 fans at Kyle Field. The defense allowed just 67 total yards and delivered the second shutout of Mike Elko's tenure. Texas A&M game report

Marcel Reed completed 21 of 30 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Horton introduced himself to Aggie fans with a 15-yard touchdown catch on the opening drive and finished with four receptions for 76 yards.

The production extended across the lineup. Ten Aggies caught passes, while Texas A&M ran for 236 yards. Defensively, Noah Mikhail led the team with seven tackles, and Ryan Henderson contributed a sack, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble in his A&M debut. Those performances gave the opener substance well beyond its lopsided score.

Now the schedule moves quickly. Arizona State visits Kyle Field on September 12 for an 11 a.m. Central kickoff on ABC, followed by Kentucky on September 19. The Aggies have their first win. Next comes the test of carrying that performance into another Saturday. Official schedule
