Authorities have arrested two men and filed charges following a robbery at the Commerce National Bank on University Drive in College Station. Andre Tippett and Andronicus Edison are being held on an $800,000 bond at the Brazos County Jail, accused of eight counts of aggravated robbery.
A probable cause arrest statement released by police provides details about the incident. According to the document, witnesses reported that one of the suspects threatened staff and customers inside the bank. The suspect allegedly told people not to contact law enforcement, stating that if officers arrived, everyone present would die.
The report also describes a violent interaction during the crime. Witnesses said one suspect grabbed a woman by her hair, pulled her forward in front of others, and placed a firearm against her head.
Police investigations into the suspects' vehicles revealed significant evidence. Officers stopped Edison in a car containing four cell phones and four cold drinks, suggesting additional passengers were involved. Tippett was found driving a separate vehicle that contained a mini-rifle equipped with a 50-round ammunition drum and a cell phone.
Investigators obtained warrants for all the mobile devices found in both cars. Analysis of the phones showed that the individuals in the two vehicles were communicating with each other during the events leading to the arrest.
