The Hagler Institute for Advanced Study at Texas A&M University has selected 11 scholars for its 2026-27 class, which includes 10 Fellows and one Distinguished Lecturer.
The scholars are recognized for achievements in their fields and are members of the National Academies or hold recognitions of equal stature. The cohort includes leaders in science, engineering, business, education and agriculture who will collaborate with Texas A&M faculty and students for up to one year, distributed over as many as five years.
“We welcome this 15th class of 11 stellar scholars. They represent the highest level of excellence,” said John L. Junkins, founding director of the Hagler Institute.
The institute will induct its 2026-27 Hagler Fellows during its annual gala in February.
The announcement identifies Rexford S. Ahima of Johns Hopkins University, who studies obesity and diabetes and will work with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Myles Allen of the University of Oxford, a climate change researcher who will collaborate with the College of Engineering; and Kristi Anseth of the University of Colorado Boulder, whose research combines biology and engineering for regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and drug discovery.
