Jalen Thompson is expected to miss at least four weeks with a hamstring injury, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. Dallas has not said whether the safety will be placed on injured reserve, although he is considered a possible candidate for the list.
Thompson left during the second quarter of Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. His injury further reduces the Cowboys’ options at safety. Malik Hooker has missed the last two games with a forearm injury, and P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday because of a foot injury.
Thompson had been on every defensive play through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season before the injury. He recorded 17 tackles during that span.
