Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has missed consecutive practices because of a hamstring injury, and the team had not announced whether he will play against the Indianapolis Colts. Houston has one practice left before Sunday’s game.
Collins suffered the injury while preparing for Week 2 and was held out of Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Texans’ season opener against Buffalo, the 27-year-old caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. The Bills won that game 36-31.
Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches through two games, the team’s top downfield total. Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more work among the wide receivers if Collins is unavailable at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium. His next scheduled chance would come in Week 4, when Houston is set to play host to the Dallas Cowboys.
Collins has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in every one of the last three seasons, including a 1,117-yard campaign in 2025. Missing Week 3 could put that run at risk. The former Michigan Wolverines player also had his Texans contract adjusted during the offseason. The report was published by sports.yahoo.com and first appeared on ClutchPoints.
