Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko announced that wide receiver Madden Williams will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2026 season due to a lower-body injury. The injury reportedly occurred during a recent practice, and Williams will require surgery.
Williams was not in uniform for the season opener against Missouri State, alongside safety Tawfiq Byard. His injury adds to the growing list of wide receiver losses for the Aggies, as Williams is the third wideout to be unavailable before the season officially started.
Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after just one year with Texas A&M, having transferred from Houston. Additionally, just over a week before the opener, Elko announced that Jerome Myles would no longer be part of the program due to personal reasons.
Myles, a former five-star recruit, missed the entire 2025 season due to injury and did not play in any games for the Aggies.
With Williams out, Texas A&M will rely on its primary wide receivers: Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. The absence of Williams opens opportunities for other players on the depth chart. True freshman Aaron Gregory made an impact during the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass and finishing with two receptions for 22 yards.
