Aggies’ early lead fades
Texas A&M opened the scoring Saturday but could not maintain its advantage, falling 27-6 to Missouri at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri. The Aggies led 3-0 after the first quarter before Missouri took control, with Jamal Roberts rushing for 222 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers.
David Olano put Texas A&M ahead with a 53-yard field goal in the opening period. Missouri answered in the second quarter with 10 points. Cayden Lee scored on a 32-yard pass from Austin Simmons, with Blake Craig adding the extra point, and Craig later made a 50-yard field goal to give the Tigers a 10-3 halftime lead.
Missouri extends its advantage
Missouri added another 10 points in the third quarter. Craig connected from 51 yards to make it 13-3, and Roberts followed with a 2-yard touchdown run. Craig’s kick put the Tigers ahead 20-3 entering the fourth quarter.
Texas A&M’s only fourth-quarter points came on Olano’s 27-yard field goal, cutting the margin to 20-6. Missouri responded with its final score when Roberts broke loose for a 54-yard touchdown run. Craig’s kick completed the scoring at 27-6.
The quarter-by-quarter scoring was 3-0 in favor of Texas A&M in the first quarter, followed by Missouri leads of 10-3 at halftime, 20-3 after three quarters and 27-6 at the finish.
