The Texas Rangers concluded their 2026 campaign with a 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday at Target Field. Despite a late surge that briefly tied the game, Texas could not overcome an early deficit and a pivotal ninth inning that sealed the outcome.
Minnesota took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Keaschall scored on Bell’s sacrifice fly to center field. The Rangers responded in the third, tying the game at 1-1 on a Jansen home run to left-center. However, Minnesota regained the lead later in the frame as Bell hit a two-run homer to right, putting the Twins ahead 3-1.
The Twins extended their advantage in the fifth inning. Jeffers walked and scored on a Clemens single to center, making it 4-1. The Rangers began chipping away in the eighth inning when Díaz homered to left-center, followed immediately by Lewis’s solo shot to center, narrowing the gap to 5-2.
Pitching Performance
Dean Kremer earned the win for Minnesota, pitching seven innings and allowing just one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts. He did not walk a batter in his outing. A.J. Minter pitched the eighth inning, giving up one earned run on one hit. Andrew Morris took the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits in the ninth.
For Texas, Jordan Montgomery started and pitched 2.2 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out three batters. MacKenzie Gore pitched 2.1 innings, surrendering one earned run on one hit. Chase Silseth took the loss after giving up two earned runs on two hits in 0.1 innings.
