Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley will hold its third annual Honk for the Missing event on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the intersection of Walton Drive and Texas Avenue in College Station, the group announced through WTAW.

Volunteers plan to be at the intersection from noon to 1 p.m. to call attention to long-term missing person cases in the region and to trends in those cases.

In the event's first two years, the group used it to highlight open cases involving both children and adults from across the Brazos Valley, as a reminder that some local families still do not know where a loved one is.

Chuck Fleeger, the network's executive director, discussed the event in an interview with WTAW.

The organization, based in College Station, has worked on Amber Alert efforts in the Brazos Valley since 2001, according to its website. It is also taking donations through Brazos Valley Gives, which runs Oct. 20, with early giving already open. The network says anyone with a missing loved one should contact local law enforcement first. More information is at aanbv.org.
