A new festival for experimental film and immersive media makes its debut next week in Bryan and College Station, and tickets are free.
The Texas InterMedia Experience Festival, shortened to TIME Fest, runs Thursday, Nov. 5, through Saturday, Nov. 7, KBTX reported. It is presented by the Institute for Applied Creativity, part of Texas A&M University's College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts.
The lineup is described as a mix of experimental and narrative film, animation, screendance, virtual production, audiovisual art and work by students. The stated aim is to bring filmmakers, media artists, technologists, students and the public together around creative risk-taking.
Two venues, two kinds of tickets
Igloo Studio, College Station (Nov. 5 and 6). The first two days feature 360-degree immersive pieces that surround the audience with image and sound, shown at Texas A&M's Igloo Studio, 1700 Research Parkway. An immersive screening ticket is needed.
Queen Theatre, downtown Bryan (Nov. 6 and 7). The theater hosts four themed screening blocks and an awards program, and needs its own screening ticket:
