Texas A&M found a way back into Sunday’s volleyball match at Arkansas, but the recovery stopped one set short of a deciding frame. The Aggies lost 3–1 at Barnhill Arena on October 11.

A&M dropped the opening sets 25–20 and 25–17, then took the third 25–20. That response carried into a 9–5 lead in the fourth, putting the Aggies in position to stretch the afternoon. Arkansas recovered, moved ahead 15–14 and finished the set 25–22.

The result leaves A&M 10–7 overall and 3–2 in the SEC. Arkansas improved to 9–7 and earned its first conference victory, moving to 1–4.

For the Aggies, the problem was not an absence of resistance. They erased the threat of a sweep and built another early advantage. They could not hold that advantage long enough to force a fifth set.

College Station fans get the next chance to see A&M respond at home. Florida visits Reed Arena on Friday, October 16, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m. Central.
