If history is a guide, Thursday’s soccer match at Ellis Field may leave little room for error. Thirteen of Texas A&M’s 15 meetings with South Carolina have ended in a draw or a one-goal decision.

The Aggies host the No. 6 Gamecocks on October 15 at 7 p.m. Central, with SEC Network+ streaming the match. A&M leads the series 7–5–3.

There is evidence of progress in the Aggies’ attack: through six SEC matches, they have already exceeded their conference goal total from all of last season. Turning close games into results remains the challenge. A&M is 2–6 in one-goal matches this season.

South Carolina arrives at 11–1–1 overall and 5–0–1 in the SEC, with four consecutive shutouts. That makes Thursday a test of whether the Aggies’ improved scoring can break through one of the conference’s strongest defenses.
