Residents thinking about a seat on one of College Station's advisory boards can get a primer at City Hall on Monday night.
The city's Committee, Board, and Commission 101 seminar starts at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in the Bush 4141 Community Room at City Hall, 1101 Texas Ave. The city's committees page says the session should wrap up by about 7:30 p.m.
According to the city, the seminar explains what serving involves: the requirements, the duties and the limits on what appointed members can do, along with how city staff support each body and how those groups feed into the issues that reach the City Council. There is time for questions. The city's sign-up form listed a registration deadline of 5 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 9, so anyone who missed it can contact the City Secretary's Office at cso@cstx.gov or 979-764-3541.
