A math teacher at A&M Consolidated High School is one of 50 teachers chosen for this year's Yale Educator Award, an honor that starts with a nomination from a former student.
Taylor Warren, who teaches AP Calculus BC and Algebra II Advanced at Consolidated, was named a 2026 recipient by Yale University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, College Station ISD announced Sept. 30. KBTX also reported the award this week.
How the award works
Yale invites students entering its first-year class to nominate high school educators who, in the district's words, "had deeply impacted their lives." Admissions officers then review each nomination and choose the honorees.
Warren was nominated by a former Consolidated student who is now a member of Yale's Class of 2030, according to the district.
The field was wide this year. Nominations named 307 educators working in 39 states and 20 countries, CSISD said, and Yale chose 50 teachers and 17 counselors from that pool. The incoming class that made the nominations numbers 1,652 students drawn from more than 1,200 high schools.
The program's stated aim is to recognize teachers and counselors who push students toward high achievement, the district said.
