Texas A&M reached its 800th football victory Saturday night with a performance built around possession, rushing touchdowns and a defense that kept Arkansas off the scoreboard for the final three quarters.

The Aggies won 34–7 at Kyle Field before a season-best crowd of 108,657, according to Texas A&M Athletics. The result moved A&M to 3–2 overall and 1–2 in the SEC, ending consecutive losses to Kentucky and LSU and giving College Station its first conference celebration of the season.

A&M’s offense ran 68 plays to Arkansas’ 47 and held the ball for 38 minutes, eight seconds. The Aggies produced 231 rushing yards on 49 attempts, scored all four of their touchdowns on the ground and finished with 401 total yards. Arkansas managed 214 yards, including 111 passing.

An interception on Arkansas’ second offensive snap gave A&M an early opportunity, and the Aggies turned it into a touchdown. A second rushing score made the margin 14–0 before Arkansas answered with a touchdown late in the first quarter.

That was the Razorbacks’ last scoring possession. A&M added a touchdown and a 57-yard field goal before halftime, taking a 24–7 lead into the break. The opening drive of the second half brought another rushing touchdown; a 50-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter completed the scoring.

The official gamebook shows the Aggies converted nine of 16 third downs, while Arkansas converted three of 10 and failed on both fourth-down attempts. A&M also finished without a turnover. Those details help explain the large possession advantage and why the Razorbacks had relatively few opportunities to cut into the lead.

The milestone came during the home game designated for the university’s 150th-anniversary celebration. A&M will travel to Missouri next Saturday with its first SEC victory secured. That Oct. 10 game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central on ABC.

Analysis: The strongest evidence of improvement was A&M’s control after Arkansas made it 14–7. The Aggies kept scoring while the visitors stalled, turning an early one-touchdown game into a comfortable result. Missouri now supplies a road test of whether Saturday’s combination of ball security, sustained drives and defensive stops can carry beyond Kyle Field.
