College Station police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the One15 nightclub, located in the 100 block of College Main. The department announced the details of the case on Sunday. Officers who were patrolling the nearby Northgate area heard a gunshot coming from inside the establishment and immediately entered the venue.
Upon entering, law enforcement quickly located the suspect, identified as Trey Wheeler, a 19-year-old resident of Tyler, Texas. Wheeler was taken into custody, and officers removed a firearm from his waist. During the search of the premises, investigators discovered a second gun belonging to Wheeler inside the nightclub.
Police stated that they believe this second weapon was misplaced prior to the discharge. Both firearms were seized as evidence for the ongoing case.
According to the police department, no individuals were injured during the incident. Wheeler has been charged with multiple offenses, including public intoxication and disorderly conduct involving the display or discharge of a firearm. He also faces charges for unlawful carry of a weapon for each of the two guns, as well as unlawful carry in prohibited places for each weapon.
Additionally, he was charged with deadly conduct for the discharge of a firearm and for failing to identify himself by providing false or fictitious information to police.
