The Alzheimer’s Association will host the Brazos Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Oct. 31 at Lake Walk in Bryan-College Station. The annual event is free and open to people of all ages and abilities.

The route has level terrain for strollers and wagons. Golf carts will also be available to help walkers who need assistance. People may attend the event activities without completing the route, and participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.

Pets are allowed at the walk. Previous attendees have included dogs, a leashed cat, a miniature pony and a pig.

The walk is the Alzheimer’s Association’s largest annual fundraiser. Money raised supports research, including work receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars at Texas A&M University, as well as support groups, educational programs and the organization’s 24-hour helpline.

Participants who collect at least $100 will receive an event T-shirt. Additional prizes are available at higher fundraising levels.
