Four members of the College Station fire department traveled to Bosque County on Tuesday to support firefighting efforts for the Hydra wildfire. The personnel were activated through the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) Tender, an emergency resource managed by the Texas A&M Forest Service.
The deployed team includes Captain Z. Hall, Captain J. Yow, Acting Captain W. Vanadore, and Firefighter/Paramedic J.M. Moore. Their assignment was part of a broader mutual aid effort to assist local agencies dealing with the blaze.
According to data released by the Texas A&M Forest Service, the Hydra fire has burned approximately 1,100 acres. Officials report that containment efforts have reached 25 percent. The specific cause of the ignition and the timeline for full suppression remain unclear at this time.
