A College Station Independent School District employee has been arrested on charges related to child pornography, prompting an immediate termination and internal review by the district.
Gerardo Gonzalez, 22, of College Station, was employed as an evening custodian at Greens Prairie Elementary School. He joined the staff in February 2025. The district confirmed that Gonzalez was fired immediately after officials received notification of his arrest on Wednesday.
The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Gonzalez faces two counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography and one count of drug possession. He remains held in the Brazos County Jail with bonds set at a total of $100,000.
District administrators stated there is no evidence linking any students to the case. An internal review of Gonzalez’s district-issued digital records has been completed, and officials plan to conduct a security sweep at the school as a precautionary measure.
In a statement regarding the incident, the district emphasized its commitment to transparency and student safety. Officials noted that no findings related to the allegations have been identified within district systems so far. The release encouraged the criminal justice system to take appropriate action if the charges are proven true.
