Police investigate early morning shooting near Northgate

College Station police are investigating a shooting reported just before 3 a.m. in the 500 block of First Street.

College Station police are looking into gunfire reported early Sunday, Oct. 4, in a residential area next to the Northgate entertainment district.

Officers were sent to the 500 block of First Street shortly before 3 a.m. after calls about shots being fired, according to police.

Callers told police they saw a person put into a vehicle that then left the area after the shots. Police alerted area hospitals and asked them to call if anyone came in with a gunshot wound.

Detectives and officers gathered evidence at the scene. According to police, the gunfire damaged an apartment building and a vehicle that was not connected to the incident. Police said that, as of their latest update, no one had come forward as a victim.

The case is still under investigation. College Station police ask anyone who knows something about the shooting to contact the department.
