A Brazos County grand jury has formally indicted three men in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 29 at an apartment complex in College Station. Police reported that the incident took place near a playground, with children present in the area when the violence began.
Court records identify the defendants as Jakavian Devon Johnson, 23; Jermeryion Daray Anderson-Glover, 18; and Seth Ethin Conerway, 18. Johnson faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct by discharging a firearm, and unlawful use of a criminal instrument. Anderson-Glover and Conerway were each indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct by discharging a firearm.
The incident occurred at Southgate Village Apartments on Luther Street. Officers initially responded to a disturbance involving a fight between several women, which had attracted a crowd after being shared on social media. According to police, the situation escalated when a group of men began fighting, resulting in gunfire.
The shooting left Johnson’s mother injured in the leg and Anderson-Glover wounded in the lower abdomen. Bullets also lodged in nearby apartment buildings.
