Texas A&M football fans will replace their usual maroon clothing with red, white and blue for Saturday’s game at Kyle Field. The stadium color display is returning for the first time since 2021.
The event will recognize the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and the 250th anniversary of the United States. Erin Jones, Texas A&M’s executive associate athletic director for game management, said the occasion is intended to help connect future generations with the university’s history and the importance of the observance.
Fans will create the color pattern by section. Red will fill the upper deck, white will occupy the middle portion, and blue will cover the lower area of the stadium.
A share of the money from each red, white and blue shirt sold will support work to redo the Hall of Honor at the Memorial Student Center, Jones said. Shirts are available at the 12th Man Shop, The Warehouse at CC Creations, Maroon U and Aggieland Outfitters.
Jones and Kourtney Gruner attended the original display. Gruner said the current Kyle Field could look different from the first event because the stadium’s capacity has grown from 62,000 to 107,000 people.
