The City of College Station will begin work on the final section of the William D. Fitch Parkway rehabilitation project on Wednesday afternoon. The construction zone covers the stretch from Williams Creek Drive to Rock Prairie Road. As part of this phase, traffic patterns will change from alternating one-way flow to continuous two-way traffic.
This two-way configuration will also be maintained for access to and from Williams Creek Drive at the entrance to the Williams Creek Subdivision.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-December. City officials have advised drivers to allow extra travel time when passing through the area. Residents are also encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible and to remain vigilant when traveling through the work zone.
The shift to two-way traffic is a key component of the final stage of the roadway improvements, aiming to restore standard traffic flow for the community.
