College Station is set to host its inaugural Restaurant Week from Aug. 24 to 30, an initiative designed to highlight the area's diverse culinary scene and support local food security efforts.
Visit College Station Events Coordinator Sadie Martinez discussed the launch of the event in the latest episode of the "What's Up, College Station?" podcast. The week-long celebration will feature eight local restaurants participating in the program.
During the event, diners will have the opportunity to order a special three-course Prix Fixe menu at set prices. This format is intended to showcase the variety of dining options available in the community while providing a structured experience for residents and visitors.
A portion of the revenue generated during Restaurant Week will be directed toward charitable causes. Specifically, 10% of proceeds will benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank. This component of the initiative allows community members to contribute to local food assistance efforts while exploring new dining options.
The organizers stated that the initiative aims to drive foot traffic to local businesses. Additionally, the event is intended to establish a lasting tradition for College Station, creating an annual opportunity for the community to engage with local restaurants and support regional charitable organizations.
