Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently considered day-to-day following an ankle injury. Head coach Dave Aranda expressed optimism regarding Lagway's potential availability for the team's next matchup against Prairie View A&M.
Lagway suffered the injury during a close 17-16 loss to Auburn in the season opener. Despite the setback, he completed the game, showcasing his skills by throwing for 333 yards, achieving two touchdowns, and recording one interception.
Lagway was instrumental in a late-game comeback, connecting on a crucial fourth-and-10 pass to Gavin Freeman for 28 yards, followed by a 27-yard completion to Jadon Porter that placed the Bears at the Auburn 5-yard line. He finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Freeman just before the game concluded.
Updates on Lagway's condition are anticipated after practices on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team continues to assess his recovery.
