The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to extensions worth up to a combined $24 million for Ryan Flournoy and Brevyn Spann-Ford, despite neither player having completed a breakout season. The deals were reached this week and keep both players under contract beyond 2026.
Spann-Ford’s three-year agreement can pay him as much as $18 million, with $12.075 million guaranteed, and runs through 2029. He joined Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and competed with Luke Schoonmaker for playing time behind Jake Ferguson last season.
Flournoy received a one-season extension worth up to $6 million, keeping him with the Cowboys through 2027. He had 40 receptions, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2025, and the source reported that he is expected to become the team’s established No. 3 receiver.
The receiver can play each of the three positions in Dallas’ 11-personnel formations because of his size and athletic ability, according to the report. The agreement could provide continuity among the Cowboys’ top receivers if George Pickens leaves after the current season.
The extensions mark a shift from the Cowboys’ previous practice of waiting for players to establish themselves before offering long-term deals. Earlier extensions for Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland came after those players had demonstrated success.
