The Houston Texans are 0-2 after a 20-6 home defeat by the Cincinnati Bengals, and coach DeMeco Ryans said Wednesday that the team is considering offensive line changes before facing the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. Houston managed 18 rushing yards on 12 attempts, while C.J. Stroud was pressured on 45.5% of his dropbacks against Cincinnati’s man coverage.
Trent Brown received scrutiny at right tackle after difficulties against the Bengals’ pass rush. Blake Fisher, a 2024 second-round selection out of Notre Dame, is under consideration for the position after displaying mobility and strength during training camp. Wyatt Teller also could move into a full-time starting guard role beside rookie center Keylan Rutledge.
Houston has not announced whether Fisher or Teller will start against Indianapolis.
The Colts will be without Alec Pierce, who went on injured reserve because of a heel injury, coach Shane Steichen said. Indianapolis brought in veteran receiver Darius Slayton and placed Eli Pancol on its practice squad. Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and rookie tight end Tyler Warren are among the team’s other receiving choices, while Taylor is described as an underneath threat.
Houston is waiting for the official status of Pro Bowl receiver Nico Collins, who has a hamstring issue. The Texans previously won the AFC South after 0-2 starts in 2018 and 2023. With all four division teams entering Week 3 without a division game, Sunday’s winner will be 1-0 in the division tiebreaker and the loser 0-3.
