Hero Kanu, a Texas defensive lineman, is a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, according to an announcement from the National Football Foundation on Sept. 23.
The award honors a scholarship athlete based on academic performance, on-field accomplishments and leadership. No further information about Kanu’s selection was provided.
Texas has produced a Campbell Trophy finalist during each of the last two seasons. Linebacker Trey Moore was a finalist in 2025, after center Jake Majors reached that stage in 2024.
