SMU has added fifth-year guard Oziyah Sellers, who has enrolled and begun practicing with the men’s basketball team. His eligibility remains under review, and the school did not announce when a decision might come.
Sellers started 36 games for St. John’s in 2025-26, averaging 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists. The Red Storm went 30-7 and captured the Big East championship. Before that season, Sellers played at Stanford in 2024-25, starting every game and scoring 13.7 points per contest in the ACC.
He also spent two seasons at USC under SMU coach Andy Enfield. Sellers has connected on 37.8% of his career three-point attempts, including 42.9% during his sophomore season at USC, and has made 86.9% of his free throws. The move comes as SMU begins Enfield’s third season and prepares for 2026-27 with a transfer class ranked No. 21 nationally by On3.
