TCU’s 2027 recruiting class now includes 19 players after North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks announced Sept. 17 that he had chosen the Horned Frogs. Brooks previously was committed to Stephen F. Austin.
The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman said he reached the decision after talking with his family and praying. He also characterized the move as an opportunity to stay near home. His other offers were mainly from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Southern University. TCU’s offer is his first from a Football Bowl Subdivision program, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. TCU’s recruiting class is ranked 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to sports.yahoo.com.
