Kenneth Murray worked out for the Houston Texans on Tuesday, but the 27-year-old linebacker left without signing a contract. The visit came after Henry To'oTo'o sustained a shoulder injury. To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months, while Houston elevated linebacker Jamal Hill from its practice squad to the active roster.
Murray played every game for the Dallas Cowboys last season, starting 16 times and finishing second on the team with 81 tackles. His season also included four tackles for loss, two passes defended, one sack and a fumble recovery. Dallas acquired him from the Tennessee Titans in the offseason for two draft picks. Murray had joined Tennessee in 2024 and paced the team in tackles.
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Murray 23rd overall in 2020 after he received All-American recognition at Oklahoma. He has since worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants during the offseason. Houston could consider him for a practice-squad role and game-day elevations, though no deal was reported.
The Texans are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
