Texas A&M offensive lineman Wilkin Formby said he supports the coaching staff’s decision to use him at guard as the Aggies prepare for Saturday’s home game against Arkansas.
Speaking at Texas A&M’s Sept. 29 player media session, Formby said his move from tackle gives him another way to develop. He said playing one position was never his only reason for joining the program and that he would follow the coaches’ judgment about where the team needed him.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to win,” Formby said in the interview released by Texas A&M Athletics.
Formby joined the Aggies in January after three seasons at Alabama. The university’s roster lists him as a graduate student at 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds. His Alabama résumé included 16 starts across 27 appearances, with work at tackle and guard.
Texas A&M enters the Arkansas game 2–2 overall and 0–2 in Southeastern Conference play. The Aggies won their first two games before losing 31–21 to Kentucky at Kyle Field on Sept. 19 and 35–6 at LSU on Sept. 26.
