Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed will remain the starter for now after coach Mike Elko said he is not considering a change at the position. The No. 23 Aggies lost 35-6 to No. 10 LSU in their latest game.
When asked whether Reed could be benched, Elko answered, "No." The response was shared by the TexAgs social media account on X, and Yahoo Sports reported the exchange.
Reed completed 10 of 26 passes against LSU for 106 yards and threw one interception. His 38.4% completion rate was described in the report as potentially the lowest of his college career.
Through four games this season, Reed has passed for 738 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He has completed 55.4% of his attempts, which is a career-low rate, and has added 104 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground.
