College Station police arrested two out-of-state men in the Northgate bar district after Saturday's Texas A&M football game. One faces an evading arrest charge; the other is accused of interference with public duties.

Police identified them as Benjamin Benius Beard, 34, a Miami social media content creator who goes by Bendadonnn online, and Kenny Carter, 29, who lives in Lithonia, Georgia. Police said Carter identified himself as Beard's security guard.

What police said

According to the College Station Police Department, officers were working to get people off the street outside a bar, and a group refused their commands. Police said the encounter turned physical and that the man who described himself as a security guard pushed an officer to the ground.

Police said an officer used what the department called a "less-lethal tool" on Beard while he was trying to leave. The department did not say what kind of tool was used, according to KTVU.

Charges and bond

Police said Beard was taken to the Brazos County Detention Center, where bond on the evading arrest count was $7,000. Bond for Carter, on the interference count, was $4,000. Both were later released on bond, WTAW reported.

Police said that while the two men were waiting at a staging area to be taken to jail, a large group gathered around officers and had to be told several times to step back.

In a statement about the arrests, the department reminded Northgate visitors to leave the roadway when an officer tells them to, not to interfere when a friend is detained, and never to cross a police line.

Charges are accusations; both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
