Three people and two pets were displaced early Sunday after a vehicle crashed into a duplex and a row of parked cars in Bryan, touching off fires that reached a neighboring mobile home, the Bryan Fire Department said Monday.
Firefighters were dispatched at about 5:32 a.m. Nov. 1 to a report of a vehicle striking a building at 2289 N. Earl Rudder Freeway. On the way, crews were told there might also be a fire at the scene.
When they arrived, firefighters found that the vehicle had hit the corner of a duplex and then several parked vehicles. Several of those vehicles and a mobile home were burning.
The duplex unit that took the impact had structural damage but was empty at the time, according to the department's release. The unit attached to it was not affected.
The people living in the mobile home got out before firefighters arrived. Crews knocked down the fires before they could spread further. The department reported no injuries.
