College Station police responded to an incident on Sunday morning involving a vehicle that departed from the main lanes of Highway 6. The crash occurred in the area between University Drive East and Briarcrest.
According to Officer David Simmons, the driver involved sustained minor injuries. No further details regarding the condition of the motorist or the specific cause of the departure were provided at this time.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) has been informed about damage to highway equipment resulting from the crash. Crews are currently working to remove the vehicle from the dry creek where it came to rest.
As a result of the recovery efforts, the northbound lanes of Highway 6 at Harvey Road remain closed. Motorists are advised to use feeder roads for their travel and to allow additional time for their commutes.
