A 30-year-old man from Houston, Dwight Rain III, is currently detained at the Brazos County Detention Center following his arrest for the theft of a trailer and two Polaris Rangers, collectively valued at around $50,000.
The incident occurred on Sunday night at a residence on Forest Glen Court in Bryan. Police were alerted after the homeowner reported that a 40-foot gooseneck trailer, which was carrying two Polaris XP 1000 Rangers, had been stolen. The victim, who was asleep at the time, heard noises outside and later reviewed his security footage, confirming the theft.
According to the arrest report, the victim managed to locate Rain along the Highway 6 frontage road near William Joel Bryan Parkway, where he alerted the authorities. Upon questioning, Rain claimed he had been hired to retrieve the trailer and transport it to Houston.
However, police discovered that the pickup truck he used for the theft had also been reported stolen in Houston on August 10.
