Texas A&M Volleyball Sweeps Cal Poly to Conclude Texas A&M Invitational

The Texas A&M volleyball team, ranked No. 8, secured a 3-0 victory over Cal Poly on Saturday evening at Reed Arena, concluding the Texas A&M Invitational. This win improved the Aggies' season record to 3-2, following back-to-back sweeps against Grand Canyon University and Arkansas State the previous day.

Natalie Ring led the Aggies with 15 kills, achieving a hitting percentage of .387. As a team, Texas A&M recorded a hitting percentage of .333. The match began with a competitive first set, where the teams were tied multiple times before Texas A&M edged out a 26-24 win, thanks to Ring's strong performance.

In the second set, the Aggies maintained their momentum, leading 25-15 after a series of successful service runs. Kirra Musgrove contributed significantly, finishing the match with 34 assists. Head coach Jamie Morrison praised Musgrove's development and the overall offensive flow during her time on the court.

The third set saw Cal Poly initially take a lead, but Texas A&M rallied back with key contributions from Kaia Castle and strong defensive play from Gabi Rodriguez, who recorded 10 digs. The Aggies ultimately sealed the match with a 25-23 win in the final set.

Morrison noted the team's resilience in tight situations as a positive takeaway from the match. He expressed confidence in the team's growth, despite the challenges of a condensed schedule during the invitational. Looking ahead, Texas A&M will travel to Indiana for the Big Ten-SEC Volleyball Challenge, where they will face Purdue and Indiana.
