Phase 2 of the Marion Push roadway construction project, spanning from Callaway Villas to Stadium View, is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of Friday. Following this opening, the City’s contractor will begin demolition early next week to initiate Phase 3A of the project.
Phase 3A involves work on the southbound lane stretching from Stadium View to just south of Luther Street. Construction for this phase is expected to last approximately eight weeks. During this period, traffic adjacent to the active work zone will be reduced to a single southbound lane.
The intersection at Luther Street will remain closed throughout Phase 3A to facilitate necessary waterline installation and pavement work.
The City is coordinating with Texas A&M University to actively adjust traffic control plans as needed during home football games. This coordination is intended to manage traffic flow effectively while construction proceeds. After Phase 3A is complete, construction will transition directly into Phase 3B, which is also expected to last about eight weeks.
Work for Phase 3B will shift to the opposite side of the roadway, and traffic will continue to flow in a single southbound lane. Coordination with Texas A&M for gameday traffic management will remain active throughout the duration of the work.
Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution and stay alert to construction crews when traveling through the work zone. Residents should expect potential delays as the project progresses through these phases.
