In the Texas Longhorns' volleyball match against TCU, outside hitter Abby Vander Wal was forced to leave the game after sustaining a knee injury. The incident took place during the opening set when Vander Wal fell while scrambling on the left side of the court, remaining down and visibly in pain.
Training staff assisted her off the court as she was unable to bear weight on her leg. Vander Wal did not return for the rest of the set, which the Longhorns won by a sweep over TCU. Prior to her exit, she had made two kills and her topspin serve contributed to two scoring runs for Texas.
Details on the severity of Vander Wal's injury have yet to be disclosed, and the situation is still developing.
