The Dallas Cowboys have added tight end Mitch Van Vooren to their roster after he was let go by the New England Patriots on August 18. This move comes as the Cowboys deal with injuries affecting their backup tight ends, which include Brevyn Spann-Ford, Michael Trigg, and D.J. Rogers.

Due to these injuries, the team had just two healthy tight ends available in their recent preseason game. Van Vooren, who has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game, will have a chance to demonstrate his abilities in the Cowboys' final preseason contest. Details regarding the team's plans for him have not been disclosed.
