The Dallas Cowboys have officially cut their roster down from 91 players to the mandated 53 in preparation for the 2026 NFL season. This move comes as the team gears up for their season opener in East Rutherford, while also working on finalizing their practice squad.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed that this year's roster decisions were particularly tough due to the team's depth and talent. The Cowboys' initial lineup features three quarterbacks, three running backs, six wide receivers, and a mix of players across various defensive and special teams roles.

The roster includes Dak Prescott, Joe Milton, and Sam Howell as quarterbacks, while running backs consist of Javonte Williams, Malik Davis, and Hunter Luepke. The wide receiver group has CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and others, and the tight ends include Jake Ferguson and Brevyn Spann-Ford.

The offensive line comprises nine players, and the defense includes five defensive tackles, six edge rushers, four linebackers, and five cornerbacks. Six safeties are also part of the roster. Additionally, several players have been placed on injured reserve or designated as physically unable to perform, such as linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore.

More roster adjustments are expected as the Cowboys finalize their preparations for the season.
