A temporary restraining order from a Dallas court has enabled 18 college football players, including SMU free safety Ahmaad Moses, to compete for a fifth year of eligibility in the 2026 season.
This decision comes shortly before the college football season begins and follows the Wisne v. NCAA ruling from July 31, which had initially allowed athletes who graduated high school in 2022 to extend their eligibility. The NCAA's appeal of that decision has been overridden by this new injunction.
Ahmaad Moses, who was named a First Team All-ACC selection in 2025, has participated in 54 games and made 19 starts during his time with the Mustangs. His contributions helped SMU secure a conference title in 2023 and reach the College Football Playoff in 2024.
Last season, he led the team with 104 tackles and five interceptions, along with 5.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.
Moses had a standout game against Miami (FL), recording a career-high 15 tackles and two interceptions. After declaring for the NFL Draft following the 2025 season, he faced a setback due to a herniated disk that required spinal fusion surgery. This injury has allowed him to qualify for a return under the new ACC eligibility rules.
