Baylor football has unveiled its initial depth chart for the 2026 season, preparing for the opening game against Auburn. The chart highlights 23 key players across various positions.
On offense, DJ Lagway will start at quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy as backups. Dawson Pendergrass leads the running back group, supported by Caden Knighten, Michael Turner, Ryelan Morris, and Jacorey Watson. The wide receiver lineup includes Louis Brown IV and either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter as starters, while Gavin Freeman serves as the slot receiver.
Matthew Klopfenstein is the starting tight end, backed by several players including Tony Livingston and Hawkins Polley.
Defensively, the Bears have Kyler Jordan or Jordan Mack at defensive end and Devonte Tezino or Kamren Washington at defensive tackle. The linebacker positions feature Travion Barnes at MIKE, Kyland Reed at WILL, and either Ryan Davis or Garrick Ponder at JACK. In the secondary, Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. will start at cornerback.
For special teams, Rhett Armstrong is designated as the starting kicker and punter, with Dylan Schaub as the long snapper. Caden Knighten, Jayden McGowan, and Ryelan Morris are set to return kicks, while Freeman, McGowan, and Miller will manage punt returns.
