Baylor University has confirmed that Gao Duanrui will be part of its women's tennis team for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth.
Duanrui, originally from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has achieved 52 singles wins, including significant victories at the M15 Tianjin in 2026 and the W15 tournaments in Luan and Maanshan in 2025.
In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals on five occasions, including her participation at the W15 Tianjin in 2026 and three events at the W15 Luan in 2025, as well as another quarterfinal appearance at the W15 Maanshan in 2025.
The Baylor women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025 season ranked No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team standings, marking their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th journey to the second round. The season also featured four players earning All-Big 12 honors, three victories against ranked opponents, and two athletes qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
