Peters Powers White Sox Past Rangers
The Texas Rangers were unable to contain the Chicago White Sox offense, dropping a 11-7 decision at Rate Field on Tuesday. Tristan Peters emerged as the standout performer for the home side, driving in multiple runs and adding a home run of his own.
The White Sox erupted for six runs in the first inning alone, establishing a lead that the Rangers could not overcome despite a late effort.
Early Runout and DeGrom's Struggle
Chicago took the field in the bottom of the first inning and immediately capitalized on Texas pitching. After a throwing error by left fielder Langford allowed one run to score, the White Sox continued their assault. Peters doubled to right-center, scoring two more runners, followed by a single from Doyle that brought in two additional runs.
By the end of the first frame, the score was 0-6 in favor of the home team. Jacob deGrom, the Rangers' starter, struggled to find his rhythm, allowing six hits and eight earned runs over 3.2 innings while walking five batters and striking out two. He was charged with the loss, dropping to a 9-9 record.
Rangers Answer Late, But Fall Short
The Rangers managed to scrape together seven runs, but their efforts were scattered. Burger hit a 424-foot home run to center in the second inning, giving Texas its first run. In the fourth, C. Montgomery singled to center, scoring Antonacci, and Meidroth followed with a single that brought in B. Montgomery.
