One major focus is ball security. Quarterback Marcel Reed has faced scrutiny regarding turnovers, having thrown 12 interceptions last season, including four in the last two games. Elko noted that Reed has shown growth, stating, "I think he is much more comfortable.
Much more confident. Knows the reads." Reed will be working with a nearly entirely new offensive line, which adds to the uncertainty of how he will perform under pressure.
The offensive line is another point of concern, as only one starter from the previous season will return. Mark Nabou Jr. is expected to lead this group, which is still in the midst of competition for starting positions. Key players vying for roles include Tyree Adams, Trovon Baugh, Coen Echols, and Wilkin Formby, among others.
The effectiveness of the offensive line will be crucial in supporting Reed and establishing a strong run and pass game.
