Mariners Take Control
The Houston Astros fell to a 10-5 defeat at the hands of the visiting Seattle Mariners on Saturday. The game was played at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, in front of a crowd of 34,664 fans. The final score saw Seattle close out the contest with a decisive offensive display against the home side.
Scoring Sequence
The Astros opened the scoring in the first inning when Jose Altuve reached on an infield single to shortstop, allowing Alvarez to score. Houston extended their lead in the second inning when Vázquez homered to left field. Seattle responded immediately in the bottom half of the second inning. Cole Young reached on an infield single to the pitcher, scoring Rodriguez. Robles followed with a triple to right field, driving in two runs. Donovan then singled to right field, allowing Robles to score. By the end of the second inning, Seattle had taken a 4-1 lead. In the fourth inning, Donovan singled to left field, scoring Young and extending the Mariners' advantage to 5-2.

The eighth inning saw further exchanges. Rodden doubled to center field, scoring Robles. Donovan followed with a single to center, driving in Rodden. Houston answered back when Paredes homered to left center, scoring Pena and bringing the Astros within two runs. The ninth inning proved decisive for Seattle. Young homered to right field, driving in Rodriguez and Naylor to make it 10-2. Walker grounded out to second, allowing Altuve to score for Houston's final run. The game concluded with Seattle winning 10-5.
