Ryan Flournoy will not participate in the Dallas Cowboys' preseason opener versus the Seattle Seahawks. Reports from Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram indicate that he is not expected to be in uniform for the game scheduled on Saturday.
Earlier this month, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer suggested that the starters may sit out for the entire preseason. Although Flournoy will miss the opener, he is anticipated to have several opportunities to build his connection with quarterback Dak Prescott during training camp practices.
Flournoy is projected to take on the role of the Cowboys' No. 3 receiver, but his playing time could be limited due to the presence of prominent wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Further information regarding Flournoy's role and opportunities during the preseason is still pending.
